Established in 1926, the National Institute of Mental Health is the largest facility within Sri Lanka caring for people suffering from mental illness.

It is a sate owned hospital, functioning under the auspices of the Ministry of Healthcare and Nutrition.

It provides a full range of diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative services for individuals of all ages with mental and behavioral health issues.
